I'm selling my 2023 F450 and moving back down to a 2024 F350.
Is the HO 6.7L worth the additional $2000? Doesn't look like much of a HP/Torque increase for that much money. I'm guessing I'd notice a power difference stepping down to F350 due to the deeper 4.33 axle ratio in the F450. Don't want to regret loosing that power. F350 I'm looking at has 3.55 ratio. One with 6.7 and one with HO6.7. 6.7 is Antimatter blue almost black and HO6.7 is Tricolor white two tone. $7000 difference out the door.
In the 23 plus category, I have 2 HO's , F-250 Tremor and F450 vs 4 F250's SO..... I would not spend the extra $3,000, It really isn't worth it in my opinion.
Well for $2000 your getting an extra 150ft lbs of torque and 25 more horses. You going to notice it? Maybe if your towing a million lbs, lol. Disclaimer though as I have never driven a HO 6.7L but owned a regular 6.7L which had more power and torque than I would ever need. Bragging rights would be the only reason I would have the higher output engine but that's not me. Antimatter blue is a cool color. Doesn't matter which one you go with because they're both beasts.
When towing the camper, I've never said I got too much power... I would opt for the HO
I had a 21 6.7...it was light years compared to my last super duty in 2006
It flat scoooooted
The 24 .6.7 ho .seems I'm short number of days it's not been in shop
13 actually since Jan 14th
Has tons pep, and really deep tq.
On highway with adaptive cruise..it re acquired speed from 45 to 70...most fast snd would build boost and stay in 9th. Just pulling
it's impressive. In tq
I drive a lot on country roads here in Texas, and with the wider front end not tracking in the road grooves properly it pulls side to side a lot. I also don't haul as much as I used to, and don't really need it anymore. It does track nice and straight on the Freeway though, but that's not the majority of my driving.
My old 2017 F350 I could pull my 22,000 lb 5th wheel up to 80-85 maybe more mph without a second thought. With the F450 I almost don't feel safe going much over 70 mph with it. Crazy, but two different old F350's 2013 and 2017 both pulled the same 5th wheel way better than this 2023 F450.
I think I'm going to tell them tomorrow I want the standard 6.7 in Antimatter Blue. Don't think the tiny extra power and sexy Tri white two tone is worth $7000. Gonna be a little more responsible for once in my life. LOL

Thanks. Valuable feedback. I went back and forth about 197 times deciding which way to go.
I think I placed on order last week. (FWIW, I decided not to pay for the HO either).

There are a few other differences that might help longevity in the HO, but is it worth that much more? Only you can decide, but you shouldn't be able to notice with the seat of your pants.
The HO difference reminds me of all the Harley guys putting a K&N air filter in and claiming they could tell the difference....you can't.
Could easily afford to buy the HO when ordering my 24 and choose not to. IMO it only offers bragging rights and nothing more.
Possible resale value. Once the HO is all that’s offered, the non HO trucks might take a hit. Or could be opposite and non-ho becomes more desirable. We shall see.
And having had both, i concur that you can’t tell a difference. Even towing my 5er i can’t tell a difference. I’m sure there might be some demanding scenario where it might outshine, but I’ve not seen it.

Yeah I didn't order this next one with the HO because I wanted or needed the extra power. I was kinda forced into it because the Tremor package forces you into it.
