Can anyone recomend some good headers and exhaust i could only find jba or wat ever there called and i am not sure what kinda exhaust i should get i have a 99' xlt 3.0 thanks
Hey whats up?
I am currently doing the exact same thing to my 1998 mazda B-3000 4x4. The only company that makes headers for the ford 3.0 liter v-6 is JBA as for as I know. I looked for a long time and called around to every truck performance dealer I knew of and none of them carried anything for the 3.0. They tell me that the 3.0 isnt very popular for beefing up. I then found JBA however and called them up and they had some. The only kind they offered to me was Nickel-chrome plated ones. I think thats all they make for the 3.0, Does your truck have an EGR or not? I recommend buying through truckperformance though, they sold them for $350 instead of the listed price of $400+ at JBA's site.
As for the exhaust I had the same trouble, the only company that had a bolt on dual exhaust kit was Gibson but it wasnt what I wanted. So I just had a custom exhaust done on it. Only cost about $400 at the shop.
If you wanna take a look at the site its www.truckperformance.com
Well if you got anyother questions let me know, hope I helped you out.

i have no idea wat egr means and yes jba was the only headers i found for my truck. i also have flex fuel if that makes any diff. but i found jba headers for around 350 on a couple web sites. also as for exhaust i want it when it comes out befor the tire not sure the name of how u would do that but how did u do the custom exhaust that sounds tight and how big was the pipe is it loud and does it give u better performance?
I am pretty sure you have an EGR on your truck, if your not sure then you can check by looking at your drivers side manifold. Off the header there should be a small pipe connected to it. So order the headers that come with the EGR fitting if your truck has it and vise versa if your truck doesnt. I just got my truck back from the exhaust shop. I had dual ran straight out the back, they recommended that I put in a glass pack because other mufflers will make more of a crackly sound. The glass pack makes it sounds deep and beasty. Its loud but not obscene. What you want is a sweepside exhuast. The total cost for the whole shot including stainless tips was $363. Not to bad I think. Should be even cheaper for you.
The pipe starts at the cat at 2.5 and the exit hole on the glasspack is 3. I do notice a pretty good size amount of increase in power. The motor feels alot more snappy and less labored.
I had the flowmaster from my other truck. It cost me $60 to have the mufflers switched over. It sounds decent, but the pipe is too small for the sound I want. I was quoted another $40 for 2.5" pipe from the muffler back. That would fix the sound problem.
Volcom, if you live anywhere near the high desert, there is a guy who can put a flowmaster on your truck for $110 installed. Cheapest I have ever seen.
thats tight 110 but hi desert im not so sure where that is lol i live about an hour and half from the desert depends on traff and **** but wat desert are u talkin about i live by gordans and ocatio and also glamis. if u have never heard of these places then im sure were in the wrong area lol. another thing i did this for acouple months i unbolted the exhaust and it sounded sooooo burly u could hear me for about a mile but then i put it back on after hearing it would burn **** up. any waz if the glasspak anf exhaust and headers would make that sound even sum wat as burley as the unbolted then im down. thanks guys
