screaching noise in dash

I am getting a screeching noise like something is running behind my cluster in dash.The engine is off,key is not in the ignition,dome light is on and third break light is on.The only way to get it to stop is to unhook the batteries.Anyone have any ideas?.Thanks

Sounds freaky. The lights make me lean towards the GEM. Some good info up in the Tech Folder.

Any codes?
