PS pump neck length question

1975 F250 HIghboy, FE360 C6 auto and bone stock.
During my steering refresh and leak stoppage saga found here https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-resolved.html, I blew out the front seal in my PS pump.
No biggie as I had recently purchased a NOS Ford pump PN D3TZ-3A674-A for whenever it was needed.
Finally got around to installing it today and I realize the neck length of my original pump is longer than the replacement pump by about 2 inches.
Old pump neck stands about 3.25 inches above the reservoir, new pump neck stands about 1.25 inch above the reservoir(blue tape in photo)
Existing dipstick does not fit and I cant really check fluid level either.
I'm really not into taking out the NOS pump to swap out the reservoir and I plan on sending out my original pump for a reseal/rebuild.

Does anyone have a pump with this shorter neck and can advise on the correct length of the corresponding dipstick?
Perhaps a PN for the shorter stick as well.
Thanks in advance
Tbruz

Never seen a Ford Thomson pump with a 1.25" tall dipstick tube.
A picture of the new pump that requires a short dipstick would be useful.

Here's a pic of the uninstalled and installed pump PN D3TZ-3A674-A.
Fits and works perfectly...just needs a dipstick.
Thanks

I searched for quite a while. Found out this pump is for a 1971-1974 Ford E series van application.
The pump housing would have had a hose connected to it running up to a remote reservoir, where the fluid level would have been checked there.

To be correct for a truck application, you would have to change the reservoir or do something custom.

Good to know.
A hose up to a remote reservoir makes sense on a early 70 van as the accessibility to check the PS level would be next to impossible at the pump itself without removing the doghouse over the engine.

I will likely end up going custom by trimming a standard PS dipstick by the missing 2" of neck length.
Second option is making an additional 2 inches of neck somehow.
Third option is rebuild/reseal the removed original PS pump.

Both my original reservoir and this reservoir are the same diameter and depth.
As the neck does not contain any PS fluid, the usable volume of PS fluid contained in both pumps should be equal.
Ill know more once I run it up to temperature if any PS fluid works its way up the shorter length neck.
Thanks
Tbruz

UPDATE: Drove the truck for an hour+ today with no issues.
