Service charging system soon message

This light is making me crazy. Battery voltage at 14.8 when running, message keeps appearing sometimes with the battery light. 6.7 HO 55k miles dual alternators. Top alternator appears new. Batteries both test good, my ICON T8 says generator 2 is making almost 28 volts. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Have a reputable shop diagnose the issue

The voltage is too high, voltage regulator problem. SICA526 is right, if you're not sure what to do then take it to a shop. If you continue running with voltage too high it will damage the batteries as well, and other far more expensive components if it worsens.

I think the second gen is supposed to make 28 volts for the Rapid Heater. If you are seeing 14.4-14.8 at the batteries, then the 28V you see on the other alternator is for a separate system. If it were tied to the batteries you would have voltages all over the place. I don't remember where I saw it, but it requires both batteries and the alternator to power it and its 1400 watts. Has a 125amp fuse too. 14+14=28, so maybe?

It might be normal, but I can't find docs to back up what I heard.

28 volts may charge the Pro-power onboard batteries?
I want to say I read something about 24v batteries for that system.

Maybe this is what I heard that used the second alternator at 28 volts.
