99 7.3 w/ zf6. If the truck sits overnight or a few hours long enough to really cool down it will long crank and hard start, occasionally white smoke. Icp is new and shows about 550 at idle and ipr is at ~6 cold. Once the truck warms up it runs like a champ and has no issues but cold it just sucks until this thing starts to warm up and keep in mind here in Phoenix if it’s a nice 60 degree morning that’s just too cold for the ole girl, Just recently had oil changed and did fuel filter, pump, and filters/screens. Hpop reservoir stays full and lines are fairly new and not leaking. Could this be a glow plug issue? When the truck is warm it fires right up maybe 3 seconds of cranking. Cold I’ve had to fight this pig for up to 15 minutes sometimes
Did it act this way before the work was done to it? If not, well even if so, I'd suspect you've got a leak or possibly something up with the new fuel pump. My guess is thefuel pump is losing its prime while it sits which forces the long cranks. It can cause white smoke and rough idle until the air has cleared through the system.

it started going it once it cooled down, we started seeing 70 degree days and it has just been a real chore since
When you key on watch your volts. Mine when it's cold will drop to 11.3v and that's the glow plugs working. Yesterday after 45 seconds the glow plugs turned off and voltage goes back up. This is koeo.

the voltage does drop and then go back up after a minute or so but I suppose it could be lying to me, going to do the led indicator add to try and be sure.
Just to rule it out hook a hose to the fuel bowl drain and open the valve. Put the hose in a clear jug then cycle the key for a second or so. We're looking for an immediate flow of clean green diesel, no bubbles or BS.
