G'day everyone, just chasing a bit of advice. I've sourced a used C6 for my 1990 F150 with the 5.8 Windsor, and I have a couple of questions. It has an unknown number of miles.
It's from an 81 F100 with 351 Cleveland, i believe its the same bolt pattern for the bellhousing? So it should bolt up to my Windsor just fine?
They guy had it checked by a mechanic who said it "wad pressure tested and given the okay". Could I assume the pump is good then?
If you bought it, what would you do with it before installation? Replace torque converter? New seals? Anything else?

Reason: Spelling
The main reason for the swap is the current C6 I have makes a hissing sound when in neutral, which goes away when in gear. It was suggested it was the pump.
Well, the whine is there. Not overly loud. The transmission shifts fine. But 12 months ago I drained the fluid and found a piece of what I think is a snap ring in the pan. So it makes me kinda nervous to drive anywhere out of town....
So further to my questions, parts here in Aus are harder to find than in the US.
I see Rockauto have reconditioned torque converters, TC brand. Are they any good for a standard build?
And as far as pumps go, are there any brands you would recommend?
It's often cheaper (and easier) to buy US and get it shipped over here, but it's hard to know what brands are good or nah.
