I had that one on my first 7.3. It's a pretty basic power adder - I felt it did not add much in the towing range, and I don't think it affected shifts, but it did let you keep an eye on EGT which was good.

Recommend removing it, get the truck running 100% in its stock configuration, then consider the hydra and a dedicated set of gauges for EGT and Fuel pressure at minimum.

IF,
you go the Hydra tuner,

the Edge Diesel Street kit is not much difference in cost that good EGT, Coolant Temp, and Fuel Pressure gauges....

that is the route that I chose.
You get everything in one small package...

the CTS-3 has 3 screens, each of which is complete programmable to your wishes.

as of today, my main screen is like this, once I get the EGT probe thru the firewall, it will change again.

The Edge CTS-3 has a lot of bonus features.
It can do Diagnostics and display the error Codes, and it can clear all DTC codes.

lot of benefits to the CTS-3

John meant CTS-3 here. The Hydra has a simple controller for switching tunes.

I think you can use the old Edge as just a display. This could give you the gauges while you do other mods (ie Hydra)and save some money. Eventually you’ll probably want to upgrade to something like the CTS for gauges though.

I went back and edited that post, and yes, DA that I am today, I must be cross eyed..
it is the CTS-3...

the nice little Hydra just has a tiny little box with 2 buttons and a 2 digit display....
I leave it on 80hp DD mode.
