I have a 95 f150 5.0 XLT/Eddy Bauer Edition
after hauling a Full load of wood I found some broken wires located in the frame. After a a good hard look over it seems the drivers side top shock bracket had bounced off the wiring loom even as that sits on the bottom of the frame. I finally found the issue and seems the top shock bracket bottomed out and clipped the loom. Could be I was way over loaded in combonation with 30 year old shocks. I don't normally over load to that extreame but thinking about new shocks anyway. Any input on a good quality shock set in the rear for starters. I'd say meidum duty +, and I'll try to linit my 1/2 ton truck to less than 1k lbs load
When I had my 1991 F250 LD 4x2 with the M5OD and the 302/5.0 engine, I put in KYB Gas-A-Just monotube shocks (front and rear ends of the truck). The truck felt better after putting in all four (4) shocks.
Before installing each new shock, I had to compress each shock and manually tie it with wire around the compressed length before putting it into position.
