25000 miles an I park in my drive way to come out and find drips all the way across coming off the cross member below the trans. It appears the rear passenger side of the pan is leaking.
I was planning to have the trans serviced at the next oil change at 30000 miles but I guess I'll have the stealership do it while they fix the leak.
Is this a typical leak point in these trucks? 10 speed.
I hope I don't have one of those trucks that leak everywhere. I'm OCD about leaks.
Only driven the truck about 1200 miles since buying it. The GM dealership I bought it from swears an oil change is part of their inspection / refurbashing process when they turn a trade in. I doubt it. I know diesel oil gets dark quick but when I checked the level it looks more like 5K oil so it gets changed now too. Can't trust anyone...
The pans are plastic. Better verify that it is actually the pan and fluid is not dripping from higher up. I had ULV on my starter and took it to a stealerahip to fix and they replaced the warmer/cooler which didnt have any fluid anywhere as high as the starter. I had to take it to another stealership who dyed the fluid and traced the leak to the pump seal. Perfect time to buy the AFE pan and do the swap. The gasket p/n is LC3Z-7F396-C. Ford quoted me $480 to drop my pan, change the filter and replace the fluid that was drained. They had to do it all when they fixed the leak under warranty on Ford's dime.
Heck let warranty take care of that. Tell them you’ll get them a new filter out of contamination concern. On my 2020 recall they wouldn’t change the filter because the miles were too low.
As far as the dealer. I traded in a truck to a Mercedes dealership, still had Fordpass on. The change soon light came on on my way there (out of state dealer) and within 30 minutes they had it reset after I drove off in the car I purchased (maybe immediately). Seriously doubt they changed it as it went to a Ford dealer a few days later.
Watched Fordpass and the new owner didn’t change it for almost another 20k miles! Probably 28k on that change and then the dude didn’t change it again and traded it 16k miles later.
I kept track of it because I wanted to buy it back, almost did. Rare combo of options on a special order. But naw.

That's pretty amazing, to track that. I bet this is more common than we care to let on... with previously owned vehicles. It's always a gamble. That's why it's a good idea to start fresh with any used car purchase.
Yeah it was kinda creepy but me and my Ex ordered that truck and I regretted selling it. I would just refresh that truck occasionally as I used the app for 2 other vehicles.
But during that inflation time period it was hard to keep it and not trade it for something that didn’t have a high demand and suffered from huge first owner depreciation. Was kinda my only shot at getting a car like that.
Long story short that sucker lived a hardlife as the new guy deleted it as well with 5 inch exhaust etc. (Saw the forsale ad). Always had check engine light alerts too and one collision alert on new years night lol.
I got the PPE deep transmission pan. I holds around 13 quarts of fluid. Wasn't hard to replace. A little messy but this pan has a drain plug so that won't be a problem going forward.
Oil will get done tomorrow while at the dealership. Current oil filter is some off brand MVP or something. Definitely not 3 weeks old as stated by the selling stealership. I will not be using them again. ever.
