How to remove crew cab

I’m rebuilding some of my 79 crew cab before I install the new engine. I’ve got the bed removed and the frame under it painted. I’ve got the cab ready to be removed and sitting on blocks on the frame. I’d like to lift my cab off the frame long enough to wash and paint under it also. I’m not gonna be able to have enough people come over to lift the cab by hand. My neighbor has a large ford tractor with a front end loader.

What ways are safe for the cab to lift with forks on a front end loader? Also what cribbing needs done to sit the cab down in grass? I’m assuming that it shouldn’t be put down on the lowest corners of the body. I could just block the cab up and paint the frame like that but I’m also installing/making new fuel lines and and exhaust and it would help to have the cab completely out of the way for that too.

This is probably the best one yet, not sure how they got it up there to get those beams under it. Be easier if they put stock size roller tires on it, to make it lower.

Eng hoist to the seat belt bolts, it's all about the balance.

Another version of the eng hoist lift.

Watch the straps on the cab pinch seam, drip rail, drip rail chrome. if you leave the doors on be careful to distribute the weight.

A reverse of the eng hoist, again all about the balance point being found.

Tractor can pick a SC and if it is big enough, I am sure a CC. But think smart and be careful.

Another awesome set up with a spreader bar

I do not know if I would trust the attachment points of those hooks on the inner fenderwell bracket.

If the cab is already up & off the frame & on blocks already, could you not just lift it a bit more and use bigger blocks for a "frame wash and paint" as is? Just dress in rain gear or a haz mat suit. Even to sit the cab out in the yard is gonna need blocking under the cabs floor near where the frame to cab bushings were, and then on ground that is in one plane.

No way would I remove my cab just for making brake or fuel or exhaust lines.

How did you lift it to get the block under it?
Do like it the first picture and long planks.

Single cab I was able to lift 1 side by myself and kick a plastic horse under the rocker then did the same on the other side.
Thing is I had to pull the rear axle to pull the frame out from under the carb.

Later when I had to replace the rockers I moved the horses to the front body mounts and used a 1000lb body panel holder under the rear mount.

Front tires were on the frame and I used a jack under the rear to clear the horse.

My garage rafters are open and thought about using straps to lift the cab but felt it was to heavy and did not want to bring down my garage.
I also looked at running planks across the rafters so more of them would support the weight but lifting 1 side at a time worked for me.
I did use the rafters to move the metal bed floor on and off the frame and to hang the bed body side panels & gate for painting.

I had used four 55 gallon drums and two pallet rack beams when I did my 78 supercab. I had jacked the body up off the chassis with scissor jacks and then cribbed the body until it was high enough to clear the beams/drums. Then just rolled the chassis out on some stock wheels.
