Enjoy a long, long, long life with this beauty... at that mileage, you should own her for about 20 years. (with proper maintenance of course)

Thought it might be time to post a photo of my old rig, which is a 1968 F250 4x4 with NP435 4 speed and Dana #24 TC... It just passed 711,000 miles. I have had it since Dec 1969 and it is on the 3rd motor, and 3rd running gear rebuild. 7 years ago I did a cab-off, frame-up total restore of all the rust, grease, dirt, & corrosion, replacing everything but the frame and running gear. Took almost 3 years, and my local body shop helped with most of the sheet metal restore and painting.

The bumper and flares aren't my thing, but it's not my truck. The fact that you've had it almost 50 years is amazing and it's ABSOLUTELY your truck. I think it's an awesome rig that anyone would be proud of. Nice to see someone willing to put the time and money into hanging on to their baby.

Thanks guys, I do love my old truck. For many years it was a work truck, and then a 4x4 tow truck so it got lots of miles, and upkeep. Then, about 20 years ago, it retired with me, to Baja, and now it lives the life of leisure, and rescue during hurricanes. Since it has A/C, it is my "Town Car" when we go to the big city of Los Barriles, about 15 miles north. Since this is a small drinking town, with a fishing problem, the front bumper does turn some heads. A local artist carved the bumper for me, after I caught a 110 lb Wahoo, which X'd off one thing on my "Bucket List'. I know its not original any more, but it is practical and functional... form comes after that..

No offense taken V10 amigo, none at all.. The big bumper has a function here in Baja, where there is only 1 paved road, and thousands of miles of dirt. Few country rancho's have much in the way of fences, so livestock wanders free, many using the roads, as they are the path of least resistance. After 'Bumping' into 3 cows, for practical use, and defense of lights & fenders, I went with the big, thick, hardwood bumper. I too like the look of the slim chrome bumper, but they aren't really meant to be 'Bumped" being bumpers in name only. As to my 49 year love affair with my old truck, my logic is that it has rarely quit on me, so I am returning the favor. Now, it has become a matter of pride, and convenience in retirement. In reality, I drool over some of the pristine restored short bed F100's, owned by many a classic fan. Enjoy your V-10, I can only dream.
