Hi all, 97 f350 cclb, I noticed my truck has class E rated tired. What is a tow capacity for these tires I'm looking to tow a camping trailer with a dry weight of 6500 lbs?
Look at the manufactures website. But since you did not specify what tire or rim, never forget the rim they are on, we will not be able to give you the proper scientific response.
I am sure being a 97 F350 that your tires are way over rated for the vehicle they are attached to.
They are the stock steel polished Alcoa rims. The class E indicates 1520lb rated each individual tire load which I assume is linked to the vehicle weight and not necessarily the tongue weight? Sounds right?
Check your numbers. Your thought on E rating is not correct. See the graph for load index.
Also those are Aluminum Rims. You have the incorrect nuts on those rims. You need the flat washer type lug nuts for aluminum rims. You need to check for damage.
