I might be purchasing a 1999 F-350 2-door short cab 2WD V-10 4R100 with XL trim. The driver's side of the seat is pretty tired. I would like to find a replacement front seat that is in better shape from another Super Duty, preferably the kind that has the armrest center console thing that folds up to be a seat-back for the middle passenger. I have a question:
The seat needs to fold in order to access the space behind the seat. If I were to take the front seat of a crewcab and put in this truck, I would lose that folding ability. Is it possible to swap the hinges from a crewcab rear seat frame to the front seat frame?
Your looking for a single cab or extended cab 60/40 seat that has the rear latch. I couldn't find a set when I wanted them so mine are from a 4 door crew or extended and have no latch. I pull the seat all the way forward and it does tip a good ways forward, beyond 90 for sure. Works pretty good, but the right seat would fold forward without needing to pull forward. I really don't think you can swap hinges, its all part of the seat base and the upper frame. Basically you'd need the whole seat anyways and just be re-skinning them.
Are all F350 single-cabs 2000-2013 (please correct if you know the exact model years) able to just bolt-in the "2013 f250 XL 2 door: seat with middle console that folds up" or similar?
If not, what are the "gotcha" editions?
