This is not meant to be a bash thread just a tuner question I got my 160/0 injectors in and going when I got my Injectors I got free tuning with them I know going from split shots to single shots it is going to be a bit louder but with the tunes sent to me my truck sounds like a 12valve Cummins figured at first it's just getting the air out of the system so I had another tuners tunes on my hydra chip and figured might as well get those tuned for the new injectors as well when running these specific tunes it is drastically quieter ( yes a tiny bit more cackle than my split shots) I ran both these tuners with my split shots no issues. Question is are my free tunes I got with injectors got the timing cranked up way to much? Anyone with aftermarket injectors experience any of the 12valve sound? Going to talk to the tuner but don't want them to think I'm just complaining.
If it's a noticeable difference from one tuners tune to the other tuners tune I would definitely mention it to the louder ones tuner and see what they say.
Not sure on the ICP but I have an AE I can check and report back. I Emailed the louder tuner company just seems odd when I used their stock tunes and the other company stock tunes there was no noticeable difference in sound but this is also my first time using aftermarket injectors but this is loud loud like it's starving for fuel. Fuel pressure on guage is 65psi at idle not sure about under power since guage is under hood.
I'm not thinking it's an injector issue I got 2 tuners on the hydra the ones in question they all are loud well the high idle I can't tell really but I have tow, daily. Economy, street. They all sound loud. The other tuner they are night and day quieter yes louder than my split shots but not loud loud. I emailed the first tuner to see what they say. I was happy with their tunes when I had stock injectors so I'm sure it's something easy. And I did make sure I did not reload the old tunes.
I have a dieselsite regulated return system I put the fuel pressure guage back on and it was around 40 psi I tried adjusting regulator at 50 psi now and ICP is around 600 now at idle. I Can't adjust pressure up past 50 for some reason not sure if regulator bad or maybe pump getting weak it is the factory one with 315k miles on it.
You can use a pair of vice grips on a hose portion of the return line to briefly pinch off the line and essentially deadhead your fuel pump. If the pressure tries pegging the gauge then the pump is fine. If not then probably time to take the ol' girl shopping.

Blocked off the return line and pressure never tried to go up it actually went down to about 40. Got a new fuel pump coming from Clay. truck won't build boost while driving either 15 is about all I can get and that was pulling a good hill truck felt pretty gutless so just gonna wait for the pump and try it again.
