Hello will be buying a fuel pump assembly. for a 1991 Ford F150 4.9 I6. I have been searching online and did not find a lot of Motrocraft parts. Does Ford/ rotorcraft still make these pumps? Any suggestions on an aftermarket part if Ford does not make these complete assembles?

Motorcraft fuel pumps are pretty rare and expensive to come by. I think the last time I saw a Motorcraft fuel delivery module (FDM), it was pushing $600.
Rockauto.com has been my source for OEM parts, but I'm beginning to wonder if some of the stuff is counterfeit. Same with eBay. Just gotta be careful.
Carter, spectra, and dephi are the current favorites here. They make complete drop in FDM for your truck. I think they're just over $100. But be careful because a lot of people get dead-on-arrival units, it units with the incorrect wiring or connector. It's highly recommended to connect the FDM out side of the tank and make sure the pump spins and the fuel sending unit is working correctly before you button everything up.
For a 30plus old truck is it better to replace the complete module or could you just replace the pump? If every thing else is working?
thanks
Yes, if everything is working correctly and you're not transferring fuel between fuel tanks, then you can just replace the pump. There are some advantages to that, for example, you get to keep your ford fuel sending unit.
