Hey guys, what is the official name for this part? No parts store can find it. If u look closely u can see it leaks. If I can find one, are there any specifics about installing? I noticed the main nut has a spring rebound when I turn the nut.
That is the switch for the neutral safety and some have the backup light switch made into it also. It's not the switch leaking it's the o-ring behind it.
I see your kickdown lever is missing. There is a o-ring for that which is easily replaced. There is a larger hollow shaft that the switch and the shifter ride on, that o-ring likes to leak also and it's not so easy to replace. To replace the larger o-ring on the shifter shaft you have to pull the pan, drop down the valve body, and take the shifter shaft out to replace it. If you have never been inside a transmission I recommend you take it to a trans shop to have it replaced.
