Hi new guy here.
basically been driving Ford pickups since I was 16. I’m 63 now. I do all my own wrenching including one overhaul years ago on a 1987 F250 with 460. I do all my own work basically because I can’t afford mechanics, nor do I trust any I’ve met. I know there are some good honest mechanics out there, but again I can’t afford them.

Now I have a 2002 F350 4x4 auto crew cab dually long bed. Love the 7.3. No DEF. No CAT converter. It has even run on JetA fuel at times ( add 1 qt oil per 50 gallons for lube to the dry JetA). Bought used in 2005 with 70,000 miles. Now 180,000. Not a daily driver but is smooth on the highway. Pull fifth wheel and gooseneck trailers. Also have slide-in camper for it when I trailer my motorcycle across country.

Major issues have been oil leaks under turbo and high pressure oil pump and HP hose leaks. Fixed all myself. Also front wheel hubs had to be replaced

hope it last me another decade cause I sure can’t afford a new one.

Retired Police, now SW Texas rancher and Indian Motorcycle rider.

Welcome to FTE. Those old 7.3s would last forever. Enjoy your truck.

My 1999 F-350 7.3 Auto 44 crewcab dually has gone through two sets of front hubs since it entered my life! Otherwise it's been pretty reliable.

Welcome aboard!
