Years ago when I worked at dealerships. The salesmen, being the rocket geniuses that they are, would line all the cars and trucks out on the front line and then open the hoods. Those vehicles would set out there all day with the underhood lights shining brightly. It always seemed to be a major emergency when they had a whole row of dead batteries...LOL
Yes, it's typical for cars on the showroom floor to have drained batteries. Lot of people interacting with them; opening doors, turning ignition on to light up gauges, etc, and not much run time to recharge the batteries.
