So I have an early 77 highboy truck and I bought it on 39.5 Mickey Thompson Baja belted. We took the tires off and took out the three inch body but I want to put 39.5s back on it. What kind of suspension lift should I put in and where can I get it?
Either a 4" or a 6", IMO 6" to be safe. The biggest deal is the High Boy rear leaf springs are 2 1/4" wide, so shop carefully. Front are 3" wide and same same for 73-79.
Rocky Mountain Suspension has options. I went with Skyjacker 6" all four new leaf springs. But you have to reuse the rear OEM block.
Skyjacker has longer steel braided brake lines, and remember to add angle iron drop plate on your E brake cables. Use a hose clamp to compress the little fingers that lock the cable guide in the cross member to help get them out. BOTH ideas are from FTE members.
