My previous truck, a 2021 F250 Lariat with pushbutton start was totaled (previously discussed in this forum). My replacement truck is a 21 f250 King Ranch with pushbutton start.
I have one of the FOBs from the old truck in my possession. Can it be reprogrammed as a spare for my replacement truck.
I promise I did a search in the forum and on the internet and most of what I saw was programming the key-type setups, not the pushbutton starts.
I wonder if the procedure for programming an un programmed fob would work. Probably wouldn't hurt to try. It requires that you have 2 currently programmed fobs, I assume you do.
I know it's a 150 but the process should be the same.
Not to hijak the thread, but why does the fob have to be so big? Because its a truck? I want the bulges in my pants to not be in my pockets. Sometimes smaller is better.

As long as you have 2 already programmed FOBs for the new truck you can self program a previously used FOB on to the new truck. I've done this several times.
Instructions are in the SECURITY SECTION of the owner's manual. You can buy the hard key (emergency key to open the door) for about $12 each and have the dealer cut the keys for you. Sometimes the parts department did mine for free and recent;y they charged me $5 for each key cut when I brought a blank key to them with an already cut key. If they don't know you they may ask for a copy of your registration before cutting the key to make sure your not a Bad Guy.
