C4 Or C6?

C4 Or C6?

is there a way to know based on the number of bolts in the tranny pan if it is a c4 or c6? If not, how can i tell.....i need to know so that i can do a filter change.

I think the c6 has 17 bolts whereas the c4 has 10 or something like that. The pans are also shaped differently, the c4 is square while the c6 isn't.

Could also go by the tans code on your door sticker:

U = c6
W= c4
C= c5

What I have done in the past, is order both kits from NAPA. Use the one that fits, return the other, and not only are you done, but you know what kind of tranny you have and what it looks like for the next vehicle you encounter.
