Hi, I need help with VIN on a truck i am considering buying. F11YRG55283
F11 is F100 4x4, Y is 360 engine, R is San Jose, G55283 is built in Sept. 1969 as a 1970 model, but reportedly is a 1969 and has a 1969 grill, did early 1970 trucks built in 1969 perhaps use 1969 grill?
Third row on tag is 131 C F110 B 4 A 08 And color codes don't match, color code in second line is C which is pure white but repainted so not sure but interior metal and dash is definatly originally green,
Fourth row is 05600 170 4100 72 anyway, tag does not seem to match decoder exactly for 1969 or 1970. Thoughts? thanks so much ... Mark
It isn't unusual for doors to be changed and the original tag not transferred to the new door. Find the stamping on the frame and see if it matches the title, If not then it's your call. Finding Your Truck's VIN - FORDification.com

The truck is 54 years old no telling what has been done to it over the years. If you like it buy it.
