Aloha all, just saw a marketplace posting on the islands for a fully rebuilt ZF S5-42 transmission that someone purchased for a “92-98 diesel F350”.
Ive always dreamed of my 84 6.9 F250 being a manual, does this transmission bolt directly to the 6.9? We unfortunately don’t have junk yards out here so I would have to find the clutch pedal and all other items online as well. Just seeing if this is a feasible swap before I reach out.
yes the trans will bolt to your block. you will need pedal assembly, clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, and clutch assembly. you will also probably need a trans mount crossmember and driveshaft.
if your truck is currently automatic you will need to cut a hole in the floor for shifter too.

Not necessarily, the 86 cab that I just bolted onto my 83 had the bolt in trans tunnel, but doesn't have the holes for the clutch master cylinder, go figure.
