More Questions

were there any 223s with the 2 bolt valve cover? I am really hoping i didnt get burned when i bought a rebuilt "223" with 11,000 miles on it.

I believe my Ford literature indicates that the two stud valve cover was used from 52/59 and went to 8 perimeter bolts in 1960.

also it is the numbers matching motor out of a 1953 f100 that was fully restored until the owner had a midlife crisis and hot rodded it with a big block chevy and a 5 speed

if it was the original engine in the 53 it wasn't a 223. 52-53 came with 215 6 cyl with 2 valve cover bolts and the oil cap more towards the middle. Where as the 54-59 the oil fill cap was more towards the front
distributor is in a different location on the block as well if I recall
