Which direction to spin speedometer cable?
I'm planning to troubleshoot my speedometer cable soon. The speedometer currently doesn't work at all.
If I need to spin the cable with a drill, from the transfer case end, do I spin it counter clockwise?
It's an M5ODR2 transmission and no cruise control, in a 1988 F150 custom, 4wd.

I just didn't know if spinning it the wrong way would damage something.

It spins backwards in reverse so you will not damage anything by going either direction with the drill
A visual inspection of the gears you need, one has missing teeth IMO
Most turn CCW looking into the cable end at the trans
