R82330
R82 = LN8000, chassis-cab, Ford diesel (R82 should also appear as the 5-6-7th characters in your VIN) (L8000 would be K82)
330 = 33,000 lbs GVWR
8 = I don't have that info--usually means chassis-cab, and in combination with other codes will indicate other body/type info.
DK = Not found--closest are:
DJ = Eaton model 5306A six speed
EK = Fuller model RTX-14609P nine speed OD
2F = Rockwell (Meritor) model RS-21-145 rear axle, 4.10 ratio, possibly 21,000 lbs capacity. An earlier source shows Rockwell RS-20-145.
Thanks for the reply I could not find DK trans either. The truck was built 11/22/95 so there must have been a break there. And wasn't it when Freightliner bought the truck division of Ford?
The one source I found does have a '96 date on it, the other is '90 so all kinds of stuff changes in 6 model years, even if the names and looks don't change much.
I don't know what to advise on an "orphan" truck like this. I think these are good trucks but it you have to jump through hoops and know the secret handshake to get parts it could reduce productivity and add to down time.
