Working on the ignition switch mechanism on my son's 86 Bronco and the shift indicator cable got broken. While not a necessity, I'd love to replace it. Are there any body styles for which that part will interchange?
Any truck 1980 thru 1996 should fit. I actually grafted one off a late 70's Granada and made it work. I was wondering if you could slip some shrink wrap over it and see if that would repair it. It's just a plastic tube with string in it.

A buddy of mine had on old '91. The cables are the same so he let me rob it. There's one break in the tube, but I'm pretty sure it will work if I'm gentle. Thanks for the input!
I built my own with fishing line, vacuum tubing super glue, and zip ties. I just tied off the fishing line to the indicator and around under the steering column to the connector there. Had to play with the length to get it to show all the gears correctly. Once the length was right I threaded it through the vacuum tubing. Super glued the vacuum tubing to the indicator panel and then used zip ties to secure the vacuum tubing in place. Has worked great for me.
