Turbo six

First post here. I was wondering if anyone has ever turbocharged a 300? I was just curious as to how strong they are and are the suitable to turbo. What is the stock compression and what year's are the strongest. Also, what year did they start fuel injection for the 300's? Thanks for putting up with all the newbie questions.

1. Yes they have
2. They are very strong and durable
3. 8.4:1 I believe they all are fairly equal in strength.

I beleive the fuel injection started in 87 on the 6's, cause I have an 86 and it's still carbed. They started fuel injection earlier on the V-8's, I don't know why.

RC is right.

I own a 86. I must have been really off somewhere else when I posted that.

So change #4 1986 to 1987.

There was a turbo setup on ebay for a Ford 300.

Well Darkman, they probably built some '87s in Fall - '86 - so you were actually right...

Newbie here also. How do you read Compresstion Ratio?
And whats better, Carb or Fuel Injection. Also,How do you remove the speed governor on a '89EFI 300 Inline 6?
We have a HIGH brigde here and I find my self pushing the accelorator almost to the floor just to get up it.
