Hello everybody, I recently got my engine replaced (460) and I got a new water pump when I replaced my engine. I started my pickup to see why I had a squeak (turns out it was a bolt rubbing on a pulley.) I did this very shortly after I got the pickup home. I noticed that my engine fan was wobbling so I replaced the engine fan clutch. I also have my Rear ABS light so I replaced the VSS when I replaced the engine fan clutch. I started the pickup and the engine fan was perfectly straight but my rear abs light was still on. So I shut off the pickup and disconnected the battery to clear the code. I re-connected the battery and started the pickup. This time the fan wobbled just like before and the rear ABS light was still on. So that was quite disheartening. So in short, what are some theories and solutions to why it wobbles? I am looking forward to the responses and thank you to everyone who does take the time to do so.
There could be a lot of causes for the fan wobbling. A defective new water pump. Some bolts not tight or the bolts too long or the wrong bolts used and not tightening properly, etc. The bottom line, a careful inspection of the whole assembly and the fan would be needed to find the true cause.
Okay, thank you for the response. If I were to leave it would it cause damage to the water pump? Also, your 88 f150 4x4 4.9l 5-speed sounds like a dream.
