popping-clunking sound upon take-off

When I back out of the drive and place the truck in drive I get a noise coming from the front end of my truck. I reminds me of a caliper or brake pad sticking. It is like something is releasing and after 6000 plus miles it hasn't caused any apparent damage. I drove another truck like mind and it did exactly the same thing. I think that sometimes it does it when I have been parked and place it in drive and take off. It just bothers me that I don't know what it is.

I also hear a noise after startup when I have the ac or defrost on. I talked to a tech at a ford dealership and he said it's normal...just a vent opening I think he said. It sounds like a fairly loud clunk on the front passenger side.

The tech is right, I forget exactly what it is called, but I believe it is the blend door shutting from the vaccum.

From what I understand, there are 2 different types of thumps. The first one, which almost everyone should have is from the heating/air conditioning system and is normal. The other type has to do with the drive shaft assembly. If there is insufficient lube where the 2 piece drive shaft slides together, you can get the popping noise.
