Restoring a 1978 Bronco. When I was young my father had a Bahama Blue and Wimbledon White Bronco, in searching for one with clean sheet metal I found a black truck down south and after some research it was originally a Bahama blue and Wimbledon White truck, score.
So, now to source the correct blue seats for it. I'm wondering if anyone has a blue interior available, captain chairs with console and rear bench. I'm not sure if I will need the full vinyl or the cloth centers yet. But figured I'd start the search and refine as we go.
The truck currently has seats in it, but I believe they've been recovered. So recovering those is always an option. Bronco Graveyard didn't seem to have much for covers and I'd like to get as close to factory materials as I can.
The only place to find "true original" seat material is SMS fabric. I've bought several from them over the years BUT they are very salty and their customer sucks. Lead time was 6-12 months depending on the color. Things might have changed now, but brace yourself!!
I only have high backs in all my 79 bronco's and they are the best for comfort/fit! Only ones to have in my opinion!
I have a set of high back captain buckets in blue and the rear matching bench but they are not for sale! Just FYI, the captain high backs were used in the 1980-86 bronco's and some of the supercab trucks in 1980-86. Just a different seat mounting bracket. But you can use the 78/79 brackets on those years seats!! Even some of the late 70's club wagon van's used them too.
That is another killer link. And I like that they break it out by trim code. I ordered a Marti report, but I can't find any info on a CB1 trim. Thank you for the link, I'll ha e some time to call them and see what they say. Thank you again.
