Need help diagnosing engine noise

Well, yes most likely but I have seen where "funnier" things have happened. IMHO, Time to look into the engine.... start with the heads and then which ever is easier, pull the heads or the pan and start looking at the bearings, etc. IMHO I would also check for crank endplay...... that could be a real good indicator of the internal issues.
