I have a 2002 ford expedition. My drivers side window went down and won't go back up. I hear a click sound when pressing the down button amd nothing when pressing up. Anyone have any thoughts on how to troubleshoot?
Try this...with the key on for window power, press and hold the up switch while slamming the door. Try this a few times and if the window starts to move just hold the button until it closes. If this works it means the switch contact is oxidized. If you're handy you can take it apart and clean the contacts, if not then replace the switch. If you really need to get the window closed now you will have to remove the door panel and get access to the window motor plug. At the motor plug if you apply 12V the window will go up or down, reverse the wires and it will go in the opposite direction. I've used both jump packs and lawn mower batteries for the 12V power source, whatever is handy.
Might want to inspect the bundle of wires going from the body of the truck into the door. After years of being flexed as the door opens and closes sometimes a wire will in that bundle will break.
