For some reason cylinder eight on my 5.4 2v keeps going back to a state of misfire after a couple months despite changing the coil pack & plug....any ideas as to what may be causing this?
I can't bolt the pack down as the bolt snapped off below the surface of the intake on all cylinders but eight is the only one giving me an issue.
This may or may not be relevant but on the opposite side by cylinder four there's a braided grounding strap which is broken. It's still bolted to the firewall but I can't find the other end or what it may attach to.
Edit - figured I'd add this in, amongst the misfire in the first 1000 revolutions & cyl 8 misfire codes, I'm getting one for a sensor being unable to provide data for accurate engine temp despite the gauge still working & the engine not overheating.
I'd probably address the COP bolt issue first. If the bolt broke off below you'll need to get a hole started for an extractor to grab on to!
There is also an issue with rainwater dripping down on those cylinders as well from the cowl. Is it wet back there?
Oddly enough there's a water issue in most of the cylinders, that & dust I have to clear out every so often. I made sure it wasn't coolant, just dirty water mixed with whatever comes in off of the road. If there's a way to keep those tubes dry, I'm all ears!
As far as the bolt I may not be able to get a drill in there, barely got the stripped bolt tool on the head prior to it breaking. The brass (?) insert seems to be destroyed, I have some shaft style extractors which I used on the rear axle vent tube that could work if it's possible to yank the sleeves & replace them without manifold damage.
I replaced a COP last year and forgot to put the bolt back in. I just found out last week. Anyway, I had no problems with it even pulling a travel trailer so I don't think that is the problem.

Could be, a couple days prior to the code popping up I added some of that royal purple injector cleaner. If I could get Forscan working (truck shows up as a ford fiesta) it would be an easy find.
