Hello all! I have a 1977 F100. Does anyone have a picture of a correctly installed alternator splash shield? A view from up top would be great, but a variety of pictures would be even greater! I would like to install mine the right way before winter. Thanks so much!
ok thanks...reading your chart, in 73/74 these shields were galvanized steel or plastic. In 75 they switched to rubber. I'm assuming they all installed in a similar fashion. Sorry about the picture I posted. I found it online. I too think it's upside down which is why I couldn't figure it out initially. The shield I bought is rubber. It looks like (according to your diagram) the tabs fold down and I assume the plastic pins go in from the top. Hopefully, I can figure it out and do it right. Thanks for the pics. I hope other pics are posted by other members.

I was thinking....splash shield? I've never seen a splash shield?.... but then- dlburch called it with the upside down photo.
And then I realise I actually still have one on my truck and it never really registered!
I see one of my attaching holes is torn....i'll have to get to fixin that, although I'm not sure that the shield does a whole lot. Maybe cuts wheel splash a bit.
This is on a 77 RWD 460
you're welcome. Yeah, wasn't the best picture. The third mounting position is under the cold air intake (toward the front). You might be able to source the plastic retaining clips from AMK. I doubt that they'll be listed for the truck, but they have a lot of Ford fasteners that cross over from the muscle cars.
Ok thanks so much! I have pins that came with the shield, but I don't know if they're exactly correct. I have the same cold air intake on my '77 Custom so I'll move it to find the forwardmost hole. Thanks again!
