You could try the Vice Grip Garage shine juice. Boiled linseed oil plus mineral sprits and touch of penetrating oil. The more mineral spirts the duller the finish. Apply with microfiber cloth. Caution, very flammable.
True. Be careful what you do with the rags when you are finished. Read the warning label on the Linseed oil container.
That's the beauty of it - experimenting and learning new things, but I agree, aging in the sun, although tempting, will probably take longer than I have.. LOL
I tried that front valance (see photo) and although it looked great, I just wasn't comfortable with the coating and after it sat for several days it still felt tacky to the touch. It'll be easier down the road if I decide to add mods or even paint the truck a solid color.
I'm starting to see a trend in your reply's... Hmmm, Pensacola has hints of military affiliation... Maybe that is where the fascination for things that go bang and flash! Actually, you've been a big help. I'm going to try and work the Scotts-brite pad approach and if I fail miserably, I've been give a good resource for affordable matte clear.
Thanks Abe, I am very familiar with ventilation and rags.. I have a bucket I use explicitly for those rags that I never want to reuse and our recycle center has a special place for them as well.
Here is a link to matte clear for $109 a gallon. I have never shot their paint products but i have used several of their other products which have been very good. https://www.tptools.com/Kirker-Low-G...html?b=d*12783
Good luck.
I'm a vote for Kirkers. Have sprayed a few gallons and it has performed well.
