Fuel Mileage

I HAVE A STOCK 97 CREW CAB POWERSTROKE.3.55 GEARS,AUTO TRANS.ONLY GET 10-12 MPG WITH NO LOAD.ANY SUGGESTIONS I WOULD GREATFULL.

Have you replaced your fuel filter?

Just a thought

I am assuming that you have already checked the intake filter and do you still have the stock exhaust on her?

My buddy has a early99 superduty with a PS and it never got more than 10MPG since new. The puzzling thing is it does this empty or with 6000lbs on it. It still gets 10MPG either way. Nobody can figure this out. The dealer says the truck is fine!

THE TRUCK IS 100 % STOCK.IM NEW TO DIESELS SO ILL THROW IN A NEW FILTER AND SEE WHAT SHE DOES.THANKS FOR THE REPLYS

Change the Air filter to a performance type and change the downpipe to a 3.5". For about $200.00 this is a good start. I also have a 97 with the same gears, I found a big improvement doing this, Both mileage and power.

THANKS ILL SEE IF SANTA CAN SQUEEZE THE DOWN PIPE IN HIS BAG.IM A MOTORCYCLE TECHNICIAN-FABRICATOR SO IM GONNA TRY TO MAKE MY OWN FILTER SET UP.CANT BE THAT HARD.IVE FOUND OUT YESTERDAY THAT MY EXHAUST VAVLE ISNT WORKING CORRECTLY SO ILL GET THAT FIXED AND GO FROM THERE.
