Crank case vent

Crank case vent
My 56 F250 with a y block 292 has a crankcase vent draft tube. It is currently plugged off and wondering if better to vent to air cleaner with a PCV, I see plates available to cover this.

It's hard to believe you're not getting blow by thru your oil filler tube if the road draft tube is deleted and no PCV installed. If your road draft tube is indeed deleted, yes you need a PCV installed. Factory PCVs were routed from the back of the valley cover into either a plate at the bottom of the carburetor or into the intake manifold. This may be of some help.
