There shouldn't be a problem, maybe have to move the motor mounts, not really certain, but I believe you'll need to take the ECM and associated wiring from the van over to the F250. I'm sure the ones with more knowledge will chime in soon.

Thanks for your input I’ve been away because I’ve been pulling the bus apart, motor “should be out tomorrow” who knows the weather might kill it. So far everything looks straight forward, my only concern is the pcm working, seeing that the 05 came with a 3 valve, Being that it’s going from a bus to a truck. I guess we shall see..
Right, the concern is that pcm is out of a van not a superduty.
Just to satisfy my curiosity what difference does it make if the PCM came out of the van? You'd be using the drivetrain and wiring harness from the van too so???

Im using the motor the pcm and the engine harness from the short bus. everything else is f250.
so I don’t know if the pcm is configured differently for the van/bus platform or if it isn’t. If it isn’t different (which no has provided evidence for) then that’s that and it will run. I was just asking if it was setup different. Judging by your reaction it should be fine.
Both vehicles are 2005, and the 5R110W was the only automatic available in both the E and F series that year. The E series PCM will work fine in the F series truck.

I wish it was that easy to put a 6R140 in a 2001 F250. Wrenches would be turning!
Threads like this make me wonder why anyone would bother with the headache involved, rather than just buying the vehicle that comes equipped with the desired powertrain choice?
If the E450 used the 5R110W transmission it should work OK.
Thank you it does.

And thank you

$500 upgrade vs trying to sell a 5.4 truck that everyone knows the phasers will fail and kill the motor, I don’t mind the labor and I enjoy seeing my work come to fruition. Most v10s I see are going for 6-8k. the 5.4 truck and v10 drivetrain were less than 2k. So if I make it work and use it for another 100k miles or sell it to make a little money it doesn’t bother me.

Because sometimes you can't afford to buy a new vehicle, but you do have enough stuff behind the barn to maybe bolt together a working vehicle.

Well said. Exactly the same reason I'm retrofitting a rear axle with a Ford Electric locker for my '01 (and I like the challenge, too!)
