Hope y'all have all your hatches battened down and all your property ready, you guys are in for a really big one!
I rode out Ike some time back, by the time it got to my house it was not a hurricane anymore, but 65-70 MPH wind still knocked down a big tree that trashed the roof of my garage and knocked power out for a week.
Current predictions are starting to lock in on landfall at Clearwater, which is just to the west of Tampa.
Supposed to slow down then too and the rain will be really bad over most of the state.
Not far from Clearwater here and it appears to hopefully be passing us at a cat 1. I hope the storm surge isn't as bad as they are predicting for those in the evacuation zones they've already called for. Good luck fellow Floridians and hope all pull thru safely. Thanks for the well wishes from the other board members, much appreciated.
I’m in Tallahassee, and it looks like it will be East of us. If it’s over a cat 2 and takes a jog to the West, I’ll hook up the fiver and make a quick exit.
Got everything all boarded up and putting the truck between the houses. Riding it out like all the others in the last 22 years I’ve spent here.
I just put my brand new 350 in the barn.. it mostly fits.. but its better than the garage :P
Looks like its going to basically go over out heads here in Ocala :P
Of course we just put in a pool and birdcage so the wife is freaking out that it's the first thing that will take a hit lol. I'm a Native so am used to this. We bailed for Irma with 4 people and 4 animals because we had our camper sold and a group of friends with campers talked her into it. The whole can't get insurance when a storm is in the gulf so we couldn't actually make the sale. Stressful as hell with traffic and finding gas pulling a camper but we actually ended up finding some really nice campground in Mississippi. Will stock up on beer tomorrow and finish up hunkering down.
