No power from key

No power from key
Smudge was doing so well.
- Monday - Drove ~165 miles to get some equpment. Truck ran well. Speedo was a bit wonky but figure the cable was getting hot.
- Wednesday - Drove ~26 mile commute into work. Truck ran well and speedo was back to normal. Went to start at lunch and dead as a doornail.
Able to turn over with a screwdriver at the selenoid but would not catch and start. When key is turned there doesn't seem to be power (fuel gauge doesn't move ... no radio so that is my indication of power). Fueses in cab are all good.
I was able to get it loaded on a trailer and dropped off at home but looking for ideas on where to start. I am fine replacing items but like everyone would like to start with the cheapest first.
