i have a 67 f100 and i just replaced the turn signal flasher and my front yellow turn signal lights work, but my back tail lights dont do anything. And when I turn on my headlights neither the front or the back blink. please help.
well I may have to come down and look at it ha ha ha, you should check out my post on the general discussion you will like it it is under "can anything stop toyota" read it
Just a suggestion- when you make the subject, make it relevant to the problem. People here will help you as best as they can.
As for your problem, check the bulbs and wiring and sockets first, then we will go from there.
If you don't have a test light, go get one. You can't hope to trouble shoot electrical problems without one. Then you just start tracing the power path and find where the current can't get through. Think of it in terms of a water hose, only the water has to make a circle and get back to the faucet.
i been fighting the lights for some time now, i even rewired my colum, and resodered and shrank wrap all my connections in the back. check and see if your grounding out good . i still got one brake light in the back, got the blinkers fixed the 4 ways and running lights, someday i might get it to work all the lights lol
If you are sure all the wires are right and you only have one brake light then it may be in the turn signal switch. Do you have a turn signal there? If you have a turn signal but no barke light on just one tail light, I can't think of any other cause except the turn signal switch. If it has no turn signal either then it could also be a wire. Do you have both brake lights coming out of the steering column connector?
yeah i have turn signal there but no brake light. now i had it working okay right after i rewired it, it lasted two days then i lost the brake light again. running lights work blinkers work on both front and back just cant seem to get the brake light to work on that one side.
Since the brake lights run through the turn signal switch, it almost has to be in the contacts there. If any other part of the circuit were bad you wouldn't have a turn signal. You might try to take it apart and clean it. NAPA used to sell just the cancelor which has the movable contacts on it. It seems like it was a pain to get it on and working properly but I don't really remember exactly why.
yeah i saw them at autozone the other day they are cheap i gotta pick up one soon, hat to tear apart my perfect lol wiring job but hey got to have them brake lights cops love to see brake lights out lol
