One of my front dually cab lights died. Truck is only couple years old. Dealer said not covered under warranty. 150.00. I guess they are not covered under bumper to bumper? Do you think it’s a little premature for them to fail?
Yep I’m at 32,000 miles and years don’t expire until October. Called my service advisor and he said in order for it to be warranty they would need to diagnose why it failed and submit to ford. Personally , i think it’s BS. Aparently that dept is backed up a week and I would have to leave it there. I’m not going to be without my truck for a week for a cab light.
I could see that if it is just a bulb it wouldn't be covered, considered a normal service item.
Bumper to bumper means everything. I’ve had a tail light bulb replaced under warranty. I wouldn’t have taken it in just for that (wouldn’t be worth the hassle. I had the truck in for other things.
My cab lights are LED. Not sure if that is an upgrade or if they all are now.

Warranty fine print says normal wear items are not covered. If you had a bulb out covered by warranty at almost three years in, it was a dealer being nice.
And, still no explanation what a front cab light is.
You cannot just change the bulb, it’s a whole unit.
Then it should absolutely be covered by the bumper to bumper warranty.
I'm confused, you said dealer told you it is not covered, but then said the dealer would have to diagnose and submit. Which means it is covered but needs aproval. That is pretty standard for lights and glass (as well as other items). They need to verify the issue, take pictures and submit the warranty approval request to Ford. The diagnosis is basically to make sure it wasn't caused by something like impact from a rock or tree branch.
If this dealer won't do that, go to another.
