I need some help! I have a 1986 F-250 Ext. Cab 4x4 that has A/C and I can't get it to blow heat on the floor or out the vents, only defrost, I looked under the dash and noticed that the function control has no cable. Is it run solely off of vacuum, or is there supposed to be a cable?? I have a 1984 regular cab sitting here with out A/C and it has two cables, one for heater control, and one for the heater function. I have never messed with something this new under the dash so I don't have a clue. PLease, Please HELP!?!

yes vacum is user for mode controll look under the dash there is a vacum motor (diapram)down there see if it is working when you move the heater control. But they usually use defrost as a neutral position so check the movement of the door and motor sounds like somthing is blocking it
