Under hood power source question
Hi All
Seeking assistance for installing a aftermarket devise under the hood in engine compartment that requires a power source that has power only when engine is running. Can anyone provide a recommendation on what circuit (& color wire) I can tap into without creating a problem? This devise runs on very low amps. Any input is very much appreciated.

Look above and slightly to the right of gas pedal.
I think there is a blue wire with a red stripe, loose by the other four pass through wires ( that carry no voltage unless they have been modified)
Any how, I think the blue wire with red stripe may be hot when key on.

I did not try & locate I am seeking a existing wire under the hood that is hot when ignition is on. Thanks for your input

If you look for the wire I originally told you about in the cab, you could then splice it on to one of the pass thru wires that ends up under the hood near master brake cylinder.
Then add on to that particular color pass thru wire under your hood, and voila.
Unless of course previous owner has used all four pass through wires?
