Trackbar / leveling questions (broken upper trackbar mount)
I have a stock (non-adjustable track bar), so I figured I'd get upper track bar mount for trucks with 2.5"-4" lift kits.
I have been run longer shackles in the rear of the front leaf springs which gave me about 2" of lift, so I thought I'd be fine with the drop bracket for the trackbar.
However I'm not fine. Axle sticks out a lot further (probably close to 2" more on the passengers side now. I guess the longer rear shackle lift on the front leafs is a different type of lift and the trackbar needs to be shorter now. No one makes adjustable trackbars that go shorter than the stock 29.5" center to center trackbar, so I'm improvising.
I'd probably just go back to a stock upper trackbar mountand put an adjustable trackbar in, except in reinstalling the upper trackbar mount, we broke the nut holder metal tabs and had a really hard time getting the bolts tight.
Here are my questions...
1. I'm removing the shackles and going back to stock shackle length, but I need the distance between bolt centers. My longer ones were 9" center to center. Can someone measure theirs for me so I know where to put the new holes? The thread here looks like it's 4.9", but that seems awfully short? (https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1160086-has-anyone-used-2-lift-shackles.html)
2. I'm going to lifting the front 3" with a mini spring pack under the front leafs, however in going to make mine. Could someone with that style leveling/lift kit tell me how long each of the plates are? It looks like they are about 1/2" thick, 3" wide (to match the leaf width) and start about 4.5" long and go up to 8" ish.
3. Lastly, has anyone used an extended drop upper trackbar mount with success? If so, what setup did you run and what did it do to you trackbar?
4. Would anyone want to trade trackbar mounts (your stock mount for my drop mount intended for 2.5"-4" lifts)?
Thanks in advance.
