Tyre size
It has just come to my attention that some F-250-350 comes with smaller tyres than others, my 2015 Lariat crew cab came with 275/65x20” mags and a spare 275/70x18 steel rim, almost same size. I have just bought some take off rims and tires of another Lariat the rims tyres are 275/65x18 so a lot smaller. Can anybody explain why the difference in size which will result in lover gearing.

Not sure your question exactly, but the 2" diameter tire of the 275/65R18 would result in an effective lower gear ratio as you mentioned.... so more RPMs / Torque but the trade off would be reduced top end speed, and potentially worse MPG. If you're towing a lot or live in a mountainous area, it would be good. You'd also feel the benefit of better braking and handling in general with less rotational mass.

atleast for 2016 275/65r18 was not a tire size for the lariat. the drw got 245/75/17s. standard size for srw lariat was 275/70/18. the 275/65/20 required the FX4 package. the 275/65/18 was optional on a XL 350. the various sizes are due to trim packages, options and drivetrain selection.
