BCM was the issue, Ford says they reprogrammed which leads to the new question. What would cause the BCM to forget what it was supposed to do, the truck pure stock?
It sounds like it didn't "forget" anything. It "remembered" that a severe fault was present and followed its programming to disable the FET driver circuitry. Once that happens a scan tool MUST be used to restore "normal" operation after the original fault is corrected as I previously noted.

I still do some work on my Ford trucks, F150 & my F350, but I have to admit I worked for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury when electronic ignition was the new technology, how many here can rebuild a carburetor? .At the prices these days I have to do as much as I can, switched careers and technology left me behind in this field. should have stayed with mechanics my retirement would be better ...............
