Question, my 2021 F-350 CCSB 7.3 ltr has a recommended tire pressure of 60 front, 80 rear. Does anyone know whether this recommendation is for a truck loaded to the max GVWR? Do any of you run pressures lower than recommended and if so, what do you set them at?
Yes, those tire pressures are based off of max for that truck configuration. Make it a 250, same exact tires, you'll see 60 front, 65 rear on sticker. Mine being a 250, I aim for around 55 all around. Same exact Michelins that would be on a 350 with 20" wheels.
You could do the same, but being a 350 your TPMS light will come on unless you lower the threshold.
You can lower tpms settings just make sure you can get up to around 80, + because of heat variance, without the light coming on. Obviously need to air back up when hauling.
I run 60 front 55 rear when not towing. Towing 70 front 80 rear. Kind of depends on the tire brand. If I run max pressures when not towing, I feel every bump in the road....
i run 65 up front and 60 out back empty when i have the hauler trailer in tow i bump the rears back up to 65
i tried 60 up front and it felt squishy, even though the sticker wants that
i tried 65 out back and it beat me to death empty
tried 55 and it wore the center to a furry bit after 75 miles
so i run 60 and it seems to be the fit for my vehicle
i also used the steel ruler and tried to adjust pressure so the tire print is even across the tread with just a slight edge up on the outer tread pattern
I run 50 front 45 rear unloaded with 7.3 regcab with 275/70/18s
I'm thinking about dropping the rear a bit more but haven't chalk tested them, just eyeballing what looks right.
My 350 dually calls for 75 in front and 65 in the back. That’s where they’ve been set since I picked it up from the dealer a month ago. Thinking I should drop them a bit, especially with warmer weather coming.

Depends on the OEM tires. My brother's XL came with those tiny 245s on 17s and have a recommended pressure of something like 70 front and 80 rear. Every time he has it serviced Ford pumps them way up, and he ends up dropping them back down, lol I prefer 60psi all 4 corners, and I'll top off the rear if I'm hauling or towing.

THIS!!!
Not only can you run lower pressures... but you should.
Too much pressure will wear your tires out in the center of the tread.
Too little, the outsides of the thread.
Too much pressure empty and youll feel the tires bouncing. In the rain youll slide easier.
I also run lower pressure in the rears when empty as theres little weight there.
I run 65 front and 60 rear. No need to change the TPMS for that and my tires print across the tread in the dust on my shop floor.
Thats the 20" Michelins.

Okay, about what I figured. If one does lower the pressure significantly, some have mentioned the TPMS light coming on every time the truck is started and one must manually click that off. The question I have...if there is a failure, will the TPMS still notify the driver even though it was shut off at startup.
